How pricing works: pick your items from the menu at $30 a plate set up buffet-style (plates, cutlery, napkins, cups and drinks included, leftovers packed into takeout containers) or $25 a plate delivered ready to serve. Turkey dinner and BBQ fish dinners are $40 / $35 a plate. Please include any food allergies. A 50% deposit holds your date; travel beyond our local area is quoted separately — itemized, never hidden.

Swìlhcha Catering is an Indigenous family business from Soowahlie, in the Stó:lō territory of the Fraser Valley. Swìlhcha is the traditional Halq’eméylem name for Cultus Lake — it means, roughly, “an empty basin that quickly filled with water.”

Founded and run by Caroline and Arlene — the two cooks behind every feast — it grew from one simple idea: to help the people. They cook the way their family always has, with wild salmon baked with care and bread, buns and cakes made by hand for every event, and bring that table to yours.

Pick your items from the menu at $30 a plate set up buffet-style — plates, cutlery, napkins, cups and drinks included, with leftovers packed into takeout containers — or $25 a plate delivered ready to serve. Turkey dinner and BBQ fish dinners are $40 and $35 a plate. The local minimum is 25 guests, and we reply within one business day.

Smaller orders can often be booked a day ahead once the deposit is paid. Larger events and weddings are best booked about three days ahead with the 50% deposit, and summer dates fill earliest. Checking your date is always free.

Yes. We regularly prepare vegetarian, gluten-free and diabetic-friendly options, and we cook around allergies. Tell us about any dietary needs when you book and we plan the menu around them.

We are based at Cultus Lake in the Fraser Valley and serve Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Langley, Aldergrove, Mission, Maple Ridge, Agassiz, Harrison Hot Springs, Hope and Surrey. We travel farther for a travel fee when there is a full kitchen on site to finish hot dishes, and cater greater Vancouver for buffets of 150 or more.

We bring the serving staff, set the table with linens on tables already in place, and serve your meal with serving utensils, plates, cutlery, condiments and napkins, then clear the table at the end. Buffet setups at $30 a plate include plates, cutlery, napkins, cups and drinks, with leftovers packed up for you.

Serving staff are included, along with serving utensils, plates, cutlery, condiments and napkins. We set up the table and clear it at the end of your event. For larger rentals such as tables or linens, we are glad to point you in the right direction.

A 50% deposit holds your date. The balance is due the day of the event, and we ask for the deposit about five days before. Your final guest count is due when the deposit is paid.

Home-style cooking our family is known for: baked and barbecued wild salmon, the Swìlhcha Indian Taco, butter chicken, hearty soups and chilis, and breads, buns and cakes made from scratch for every event. We tailor every menu to the gathering.
